Yesterday a pathetic political leader made one of the most awful and painful comments ever on rapes.
"Boys make mistakes, we shouldn't hang them for that"
But here is the point, instead of being judgmental of him, I believe, this is the time for an introspection of ourselves and our society. The leader who made that comment isn't a small time leader, He is F****** president of a National party and is on the run for Prime Minister post of our Country. From his statement we can very well conclude that he is a-hole but we are the ones who have voted him to power, he is a bloody law maker of our country , so what does this makes us???
Most of the people with a cosy job and salary ain't committing such heinous crimes against women. So is it because they have very high morale grounds or they respect women a lot, the answer is a BIG NO!!!! come on take the bitter truth down your throat, when was the last time a girl with wearing so called "western" and "non traditional" dress passed you and you weren't judgmental about her or didn't pass cheap comments to your buddy?? The only reason such people ain't committing such crimes is the fact that they are scared of losing their cosy and comfortable life if caught!! If they have a source of guarantee that they wouldn't be caught or even if they are caught, they will get away with it then there is nothing that is stopping them.
Now compare yourself with a menial laborer or small time worker. Do you think they are different from you?? the only difference between you and such people is that fact that they live in a wormhole so even if they are caught and sent to prison, the life isn't changing much. if that's the case then why not live the fantasy, why hold back!!
And for all the hypo-crates who believe that this is not our culture and its happening because of western culture, Just keep your damn mouth shut and look back at your history:
1. The kamasutra : Your ancestors wrote the most elaborated and exquisite book on sexual pleasure in the history of mankind.(Did they write the book because they didn't like sex??)
2. The apsaras : Your gods have most beautiful girls in the world for entertainment (somebody please explain the difference between that and a beer bar or even a strip club)
3. The khajurao : Your temples are decorated with so erotic sculptures that even R&D department of any of the porn movie house isn't able to emulate.
I somewhat agree with you, but I have opinions of my own on the same. Forget the politicians for now. I believe the following are the topics that are the main cause of the issue at hand-

2> Proper education to the so called Below Poverty Line people
3> Female Infanticide (major concern in the North)
4> Access to Content in the Social Media (TV,Internet, Papers e.g. TOI supplementary pages)
5> No strict laws against such acts
I say people who are uneducated should definitely be punished, but people are educated and do such heinous acts should not be left to live.
